About Eva the Dragon
Dear Reader,
I am currently on a blogging hiatus. Although nothing new will be posted, the old posts about life in the Middle East, traveling around the world and occasionally my family, like all good stories, are still there for you to read.
Be free. Explore. Fly.
Eva the Dragon
Once upon a time, a woman wrote….
After 3,001 nights on a desert island, I have stories to share. Some take place along the edge of the Arabian Gulf. Others I collect when I fly to other lands.
Like the tales of 1,001 Arabian Nights, many stories take place in a Kingdom. While the people visit the palace to sit with the King, Princes ride horses and fly their exotic brides in carpeted jets.
Not only do the muezzins call from the minarets five times a day, but followers of Ganesh, Buddha, Jesus and Zoroaster are welcome to congregate here and practice their rites. Still my family and I are visitors. It is best to stay out of the palace intrigues and to avoid the marching people.
I try to find meaning in the strange coincidences I stumble upon.
For instance – in our family, my twin sons and I were all born in the year of the Dragon while my husband and daughter came from the opposite side of the universe. They were born in the year of the Rabbit.
Is it possible for dragons and rabbits to live together in the same house?
The Chinese say the dragon’s secret friend is the rooster. Every morning while I meditate, I hear a rooster crowing. I think my rooster friend is reminding me to seize the day so that at the end, I have no regrets – only the joy of a life lived well.
You are welcome to read my tales. I am grateful to meet you, my secret friend.
the Peace of I,
Eva, the Dragon
